Development Marketplace is a competitive grant program of the World Bank that funds creative, small-scale development projects that deliver results and have the potential to be expanded or replicated.
One hundred and four project teams from around the world will display their projects and vie for grant funding in the final round of the 2007 Global Development Marketplace competition, May 22-23. The event is open to the public; free registration is open through May 15th.
If you are in Washington DC, it is worth having a look. Each year there are a number of inspiring projects among the finalists.

I had the opportuninty to participate in the Mexican Development Marketplace 2007 with the "Sierra Negra Proyect" (www.sierranegra.org), a productive proyect to develop indigenous women. It was an amazing and inspiring event that looks for new ways to reduce poverty, with the advantage to educate young people about this topics.

Tuve la oportunidad de participar en la edición mexicana de la Feria del Desarrollo 2007 con el Proyecto Sierra Negra (www.sierranegra.org), un proyecto productivo que busca el desarrollo de mujeres indÃgenas. Fué una experiencia gandiosa e inspiradora, que busca nueva formas de eliminar la pobreza con la ventaja de que edica a los jóvenes acerca de estos temas.
